Our Community

Temple Israel is located at 600 New Scotland Avenue in Albany's vibrant Helderberg neighborhood. You're welcome to join us for weekday, Shabbat, or holiday services. Please click here for service times and optional registration.

If you're driving to TI, our parking lot is behind the building; it can be accessed either from New Scotland Avenue or from Hackett Boulevard. (From Hackett, turn onto the service road between Renodin Dr and Weis Rd; we're on the other side of the St. Peter's staff garage.)

If you're taking a CDTA bus, the 13 line stops at New Scotland and Allen, right next to our building, and several other lines (106, 801, 803, 805) stop next door/around the corner at St. Peter's Hospital. If you're bicycling, please come around the back and lock your bike to one of our pillars!

Temple Israel is centrally located inside the Albany Eruv, maintained by the Vaad HaKashruth of the Capital District. Our Eruv includes six synagogues, two hospitals (St. Peter's and Albany Medical Center), two hotels (Hilton Garden Inn-Albany Medical Center and Towneplace Suites-Albany Downtown/Medical Center), and the B'nos Israel Community Mikvah on the Albany JCC campus. While our area has no dedicated kosher restaurants, there is a "kosher store" with Vaad-supervised prepared foods inside the Market 32 at 1730 Central Ave. Visitors can also order meals from local kosher caterers, including 518 Kosher.
