Temple Israel Nursery School was started in 1963. Since opening the program has had many opportunities for growth. We are now proud to partner with the Albany City School District to offer a Universal pre-k program for 4 year olds.
The program has always had a history of ensuring a connection to Jewish learning. Whether it be the Hebrew Immersion program that was offered for many years, or the UPK programs, the goal at Temple Israel Nursery School is to be responsive to the needs of the Albany community.
We believe that children deserve time to create, explore, question, and play during their early years! A wide variety of activities are offered daily that encourage the children to think outside the box and develop as individuals! Our focus is on making the first school experience a rich, loving one for each and every child and family!Well-educated and experienced professionals provide your child with rich and diverse activities designed to engage, stimulate and educate.
The teachers at Temple Israel Early Childhood Center are professionals in the field of Early Childhood Education. They are constantly learning and exploring the new theories of education, while remembering that children need time to explore and create to learn and develop.
The teachers offer each child 1:1 time daily that leads to an increase in self esteem, confidence, and a strong sense of self.
Temple Israel Nursery School creates an inclusive and welcoming community for all preschoolers. We encourage participation from all regardless of religious background, race, ethnicity, gender, ability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. We are committed to being a diverse program that welcomes all children and families.
Children can enroll in Temple Israel Nursery School at any time throughout the school year as long as we have an opening in a classroom. Registration for the following school year begins on February 1 for the upcoming school year and on March 1 for the summer camp program. Our school offers a 10 month school program- September- early June, and a 10 week summer camp program that begins in June and ends in mid-August.
