About the Herman & Libbie Michaelson Early Childhood Center
Welcome to The Herman & Libbie Michaelson Early Childhood Center (Temple Israel ECC)

Temple Israel ECC was started in 1963. We strive to be mindful of the needs of our Albany Jewish Community through many different avenues, including our Jewish enrichment programs, Yahadut with Morah Laura and our day-to-day teaching and reinforcement of Jewish values, holidays, and customs.
At Temple Israel Early Childhood Center, we believe that the power of play is a cornerstone of early childhood education. Through hands-on activities and play-based learning, we aim to nurture your child’s natural curiosity, creativity, and social-emotional development in a warm and inclusive Jewish environment.
The teachers at Temple Israel Early Childhood Center are professionals in the field of Early Childhood Education. They are constantly learning and exploring the new theories of education, while remembering that children need time to explore and create to learn and develop.
Temple Israel Early Childhood Center creates an inclusive and welcoming community for all preschoolers. We encourage participation from all regardless of religious background, race, ethnicity, gender, ability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. We are committed to being a diverse program that welcomes all children and families.
Children can enroll in Temple Israel Early Childhood Center at any time throughout the school year as long as we have an opening in a classroom. Our school offers a 10 month school program- September- early June, and a 10 week summer camp program that begins in June and ends in mid-August.
In order to register your child, you must set up an account AND add your child to the account. To add your child, you will go to "My Account" and click the "My Family" button. From there, you can click "edit your family" and you will be able to add children to your account. Without your child listed on your account, you will receive an error message that states, “no one can be enrolled right now please contact your school administrator for more info”.
