Shomer Shalom

I have some unfortunate news to share, but one which I hope will inspire you to help us. We had hoped to secure a grant from the federal government to support our security needs and Friday we received the news that we did not.  After the horrific attack against civilians in Israel on October 7th, and the much closer-to-home shooting incident that took place targeting our Synagogue, we have had security personnel at our facility whenever we run a program. That means that every service, every Kesher (our new Jewish Education and Enrichment Program), every Nursery School (ECC) class day, and every class or event, we have had at least one security guard. As you can understand, this has been an enormous expense for our Synagogue, but one we felt, and continue to feel ( we will be re-evaluating the times), is necessary given the security situation. We had hoped that the federal government grant program would help supplement these costs, but that simply didn't pan out.
While we are very disappointed, we are hopeful that you can help.
