Strauss Senior Center

Temple Israel is honored to be a beneficiary of a bequest left by lifelong Albany resident, Theodore Strauss (z"l). 

Theodore Strauss (z”l) was a  public school teacher in Albany, NY. He and his wife had no children of their own. When his wife passed away, he lost not only companionship, but also a sense of community. His search for connection led him to our Jewish Community.

He left a generous bequest to Temple Israel of Albany with an intention  to afford us the ability to dedicate efforts, energies, and resources to creating programs and opportunities for the seniors in our community.

With these resources, Temple Israel has been able to increase our outreach efforts to seniors. This year his Yahrzeit is the 11th of Shevat (Sunday 2/9).
