Men's Club Zoom Brunch & Visual Beit Midrash with Israeli artist Yehuda Levy-Aldema Sunday 10/25, 10:00-11:30 AM

A native of Jerusalem, Israel, Yehuda Levy-Aldema has been working as an artist in a variety of media since 1982, when he graduated from Jerusalem's Bezalel Academy of Fine Arts. His current work explores the interpenetration of Biblical texts and reality through constructions that include found objects, carvings, drawings, and photography.  Through Levy-Aldema's works, three innovations can be discerned: "Visual commentary," Visual Beit Midrash," and "slow creation." This presentation will focus on the Visual Beit Midrash aspect of Levy-Aldema's work, depicting how participation in an event that combines study and art creation allows participants to connect with democratic dialogues about all-too-often censored topics from the Torah, particularly lessons from the story of Sodom and Gomorrah and their inherently visual representations. Check out more about Yehuda here.
